The YMCA – A Community Leader That’s More Than Just a Fitness Center

One of the great local businesses we have in North Kingstown is the West Bay YMCA.

The West Bay YMCA fitness center and exercise program facility on Post Rd is home to thousands of North Kingstown residents. It supports our community in so many ways – after school programs for kids, water aerobics for active older adults, and fitness solutions for Mom, Dad, and the entire family.
The YMCA has a number of events that help support the Y Financial Assistance Campaigns at the Kent County YMCA and our local West Bay YMCA.  In addition to providing quality programming and services for their membership group, the Y provides solutions to our community members who need financial assistance.
For more information on this and other events, contact the West Bay YMCA at 401.295.6501 or visit their website at

programs in Health & Fitness, Aquatics, and Arts & Humanities. At the YMCA, all of the programs and activities keep the development of a healthy spirit, mind and body at its core. Program offerings focus on families, youth, teens, adults and older adults. Y child-care programs provide quality experiences that are age-appropriate and focus on the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of each child. The West Bay Family YMCA offers a preschool enrichment program, a School’s Out (before- and after-school care) Program and summer day programs.

At the YMCA they serve the whole community. In keeping with this policy, financial assistance is available for those in need. Forms are available at the Welcome Center. All information is confidential. As a volunteer-led, volunteer- based organization, each person has the ability, and is encouraged to become part of the shaping and creation of their YMCA. Individuals can volunteer at the Y in a variety of ways. If you are interested in more information, call us at 401-295-6501, or stop by our Welcome Center.
