If you are a member of Pack One Saunderstown, you may have received noticed that the next pack meeting is Friday October, 16th at 7pm at North Kingstown’s United Methodist Church. According to CubMaster Steve Prescott “we will have guests from the Rhode Island Canine Search and Rescue team visiting. They will be talking about what to do if you find yourself lost in the woods. We also hope to get a demonstration of what the search and rescue dogs can do!”
The North Kingstown Blog is a proud supporter of Pack One Saunderstown and applauds the many positive aspects of the cub scout program. My son is an active member of this great local organization and has formed many great friendships because of the cub scout program. Pack One Saunderstown provides a fun and safe learning atmosphere for boys to get educated on safety, good community involvement, and leadership skills. There is respect for each other, for nature, and for their elders. The Cub Scout program through Pack One Saunderstown is a positive experience that teaches boys and families life skills that will propel them to becoming outstanding leaders in their community. My son’s leaders for the past few years have been Bruce and Trish Northrup. Trish messaged me that “the scouting program fosters growth in young boys that lasts long beyond an athletic season or a calendar year in school. The program emphasizes a young man giving his best and recognizing that his best efforts have long reaching impact in his community, even at such an early age.”
If you have a friend that is interested in becoming a Scout feel free to bring them to our pack meeting on Friday October 16th to learn about joining Cub Scouts.
Cost – The BSA (Boy Scouts of America) charges $24 per scout annually, however no scout will ever be turned away due to financial hardship.
When a scout joins the Pack, he receives a Pack 1 T-shirt and a Pack 1 embroidered cap, the rank-appropriate handbook, scarf, and slide, and a Boys Life Magazine subscription.
Annually, with each renewal, the Pack provides the scout a new handbook, scarf, slide, the Boys Life Magazine subscription, his new rank badge, and various earned achievement pins.
The meeting takes place Friday October, 16t at 7pm at North Kingstown’s United Methodist Church. The RIBBE is The Rhode Island Baseball Experience. It is promoting the game of baseball here in the great state of Rhode Island for the entire baseball world to see. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
