The RIBBE is The Rhode Island Baseball Experience. It is promoting the game of baseball here in the great state of Rhode Island for the entire baseball world to see. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
When the President of the Executive Board of the North Kingstown High School class of 2017 sends you an email, you tend to take notice. The mere mention of “cupcake” also got my attention. I was thrilled to meet Jacob Maguire of North Kingstown High School, who sent me some information about a competition and fundraiser coming up next month. The event – The 5th Annual Cupcake Wars!!!
Jacob wrote “On Sunday, April 2, the senior class at North Kingstown High School will host the fifth annual Cupcake Wars competition and fundraiser in the NKHS cafeteria from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. All proceeds from the event will be used to offset the cost of senior week activities for students. Cupcakes will be available for purchase at the event, and members of the community are encouraged to attend.”
Jacob went on to mention “Like in previous years, interested participants should organize themselves into teams. Teams can compete in four categories: Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and Community. A $25 nonrefundable entry fee will be needed for each interested team, and each team will also need 100 homemade cupcakes. Cupcakes will be judged on creativity, theme, and taste. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams. In addition to the regular competition at Cupcake Wars, a special contest will be held. For the special contest, which requires no early registration or entry fee, interested participants should bring two undecorated cupcakes and some supplies.”
If interested in participating, please contact Jordan Albernaz or Heather Lebel at their respective emails, email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also contact Heather Lebel at 401-268-6236.
Once again, Sunday April 2nd, North Kingstown High School Cafeteria from 12 – 3 pm. Thanks to Jacob Maguire for the heads up on what is sure to be a very, very enjoyable afternoon here in North Kingstown. And best of luck to all of the teams and participants in the 5th Annual Cupcake War Competition and Fundraiser.
