The RIBBE Visits Fox Point East Side Little League

In late September, I visited Providence’s Fox Point East Side Little League. Fox Point East Side plays in District 1 of Rhode Island’s Little League. The two baseball fields I visited were located off Gano St and Power St, just off Route 195 in the East Side of Providence. It was a rainy Friday afternoon but I was really interested in learning more about these fields. There was a beautiful mural that greeted me as I pulled into the parking lot. There is plenty of seating around the baseball fields courtesy of two massive seating areas, one on the first base side and one on the third base side. In addition to the baseball fields, there is a great park with a spectacular view, a community garden, and tons of recreation options for kids of all ages. And despite the rainy conditions, the two baseball fields were in ready to play condition.

After posting a recent article on logos, I got a great message from Fox Point East Side Little League President AJ Picchione, who wrote “I’m sharing our logo (Fox Point East Side Little League), created with the assistance of Inkwell Communications. The design is loosely based on the Golden State Warriors design which incorporates the Golden State Bridge. Our logo incorporates a silhouette of the Crook Point Bascule Bridge. Our majors and minors fields are located along the Seekonk River, so the bridge is in the background of all of our games at those fields. ”   I love it when I hear from our Rhode Island baseball leagues, especially league Presidents, who proudly share news and information about their leagues. Thanks for sharing that AJ. Great looking logo and represents Fox Point East Side Little League with a lot of character!!!
