The RIBBE Visits Washington Park Cal Ripken League

Nestled inside the grounds of Roger Williams Park Zoo, is Washington Park Baseball’s complex of fields. Washington Park Baseball is part of Rhode Island’s Cal Ripken Baseball. Having been to the Zoo and the Park with my kids over the years, I have driven by these fields many times and was so excited to park and take a closer look. Three fields for baseball, a concession stand, plenty of parking, seating for hundreds of fans – I was really impressed with these fields. To me, it just adds to the wonder of the recreational opportunities at Roger Williams Park Zoo. There are tennis courts, swan boats, walking areas, picnic areas, the zoo of course, concerts, fundraisers, and so much more. Here are some photos from my visit.

With three fields filled with parents and kids playing baseball all spring, these fields at Washington Park Baseball must be an incredible sight to see. Opening Day for Washington Park Baseball is April 27th. You can find out more about this great Rhode Island Baseball Experience by going to their website – Washington Park Baseball.

The RIBBE is The Rhode Island Baseball Experience. It is promoting the game of baseball here in the great state of Rhode Island for the entire baseball world to see. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
