Rhode Island’s North Providence Smithfield Babe Ruth Represents RI Baseball in Regionals

The Rhode Island Babe Ruth league is comprised of several teams spanning the state. These teams include: Coventry, Cranston, Cumberland, Darlington National, Middletown, Newport, North Providence/Smithfield, Portsmouth, Providence, South Kingstown, West Warwick and Warwick PAL. At the conclusion of their regular season play in the spring, the teams can elect to participate in Rhode Island State Tournaments for the 13U, 14U and 13-15U Divisions. In each of these state tournaments, North Providence/Smithfield was victorious capturing all three Rhode Island State Titles. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and families who helped make this season such a huge success.

And these RI baseball players then continued onto New England Regional Tournaments in CT, NH, and MA. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and families who helped make this season such a huge success. Here is a recap of the teams, tournament locations, and results.

In the 13U division, North Providence/Smithfield (NP/S) traveled to Cubeta Stadium in Stamford, CT for 13U New England Regionals. The team posted a 1-2 record before losing in the quarterfinals.

In the 14U division, NP/S traveled to Monsignor Gilles Simard Babe Ruth Field in Rochester, NH for the 14U New England Regionals. The team posted an impressive 3-0 record before falling to the eventual tournament champion in the finals.

In the 13-15U division, NP/S traveled to Bullens Field, Westfield, MA for the 13-15U New England Regionals. The team posted a 1-2 record before losing in the quarterfinals.
