New England Collegiate Baseball League Announces 2020 Schedule

I follow the New England Collegiate Baseball League on social media and caught a really cool tweet this morning. The NECBL announced its 2020 summer baseball schedule of games, events, and special occasions on its website – NECBL. Here are some highlights that I pulled from their press release and website that relate to our two local NECBL teams – The Ocean State Waves and the Newport Gulls.

First game for the Ocean State Waves is on the road at the Danbury Westerners on June 3rd. The first home game at Old Mountain Field for the Waves is June 4th vs. the Valley Blue Sox.

The first game for the Newport Gulls is on the road vs. the Keene Swamp Bats, also on June 3rd. The Gulls’ first home game is June 5th vs. The Vermont Mountaineers.

The first game of the Newport Gulls vs the Ocean State Waves is Saturday, June 27th at Old Mountain Field. Friday, July 3rd the Gulls will host the Ocean State Waves at Cardines Field.

From the press release, “The Newport Gulls will play host to the 2020 NECBL All-Star Game on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at historic Cardines Field in Newport, Rhode Island, marking the fourth time the Gulls have hosted the NECBL All-Star Game and first time since 2016. The All-Star Game showcases the NECBL’s top talent in a fun-filled afternoon and evening of the best the league has to offer – with players from all NECBL organizations showcasing their skills in front of scouts from every Major League Baseball (MLB) organization.”

I have already uploaded the schedule of games into my calendar. And I am already making tentative plans to go to games all over New England this summer to catch the Waves and Gulls play baseball. Summer baseball is just a few months away and I can’t wait!!!
