Admittedly, I am a grade below amateur in terms of photography. I, like most at baseball fields rely on my smartphone to do ALL of the work. Zoom lens, light/shadow filters, cropping out my index finger in the shot – the list of smartphone help for me is endless. I get to the baseball fields of Rhode Island and I let the camera on my phone do all the heavy lifting. I know when I am beat!
This summer I took special notice of baseballs that were left at the baseball fields of Rhode Island. Home run balls in the grassy area over the fences, a game ball left in the bullpen, practice balls hit into the woods that no one retrieved, or just the average stray baseball in and around the park. Here is a collection of some of my favorite photos, featuring baseballs left at (or around) baseball fields I visited this summer.
