Firecracker Sports 4th of July Showcase Classic Begins Statewide on July 1st

Welcome to the Summer Baseball Tournament season everyone. Whether it is a local, community tournament benefitting a charity or a huge regional tournament, these summer baseball tournaments are great for the Rhode Island economy. Hotels are booked for the weekend. Restaurants are booked for team meals. Coffee shops are cranking out java after java and bagel after bagel for hungry fans. Local artisan shops and clothing stores and retail stores are getting a huge bump in activity with more people shopping in our state. And this summer, travel in and out of the State of Rhode Island is not restricted for baseball teams from and outside of Rhode Island. So, here is a tournament that I will be keeping an eye on this week – The Firecracker Sports 4th of July Showcase Classic.

Here is a stat that will get your attention – 192 teams. If you add up the teams from the 13U to the 18/19U divisions, you get 192 teams that will be competing in the Firecracker Sports 4th of July Showcase Classic. Simply incredible. There are 5 divisions – 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U/17U, 18U/19U. Teams are guaranteed 4 games. This is a wood bat only tournament. Here is a list of Rhode Island based teams that will be competing this week:
