This fall, I had the opportunity to experience the Autumn Baseball League and watch a number of games. The Autumn Baseball League, run by commissioner Herman Bomback, features several divisions of baseball both here in Rhode Island and in neighboring cities/towns in Massachusetts. Teams play each week, typically on the weekends, and work around the game schedules of other fall sports like football and soccer. The games are competitive and the play on the field builds those important stepping stones towards the 2022 baseball season. For the most part, the weather this fall was spectacular, right up until the championship games earlier this November. Here is a quick photo recap of some of the games I attended (click on the highlighted link for the game recap) followed by the list of 2021 Autumn Baseball League champs:
In the 18U Division, I watched a fantastic game featuring the Smithfield ABL club vs the RI Red Devils. This one was played at Whipple Field, Smithfield.
In the 16U Division, here is Vogie vs Swarm. This one was played at LaSalle Academy, Providence.
In the 16U Division, here is Vogie vs RI Devils. This one took place at Prete-Metcalf Field, Providence.
Here are the 2021 Autumn Baseball League Champs of each division:
- 13U RI Rebels
- 14U Seekonk
- 16U RI Devils
- 18U ATC Townies
Congrats to all the players, coaches, and families who participated in the 2021 Autumn Baseball League. It was great meeting new players and coaches this fall, as well as connecting with Commissioner Herman Bomback throughout the season. And the play on the field was incredible, great job everyone and have a healthy rest of 2021!!!
