It was great to hear from Chariho Little League’s Chris Charette this week and read his big announcement. Here is more from Chris:

Chariho Little League is excited to announce the dates for the 2022 Joe Charette Memorial Tournament. We are looking forward to another great turnout and some exciting baseball. As you know we have been doing a tournament yearly since Covid with amazing response from our other leagues from all around the state. We extend the invite to all Little League teams throughout the RI baseball community. We look forward to another great summer baseball tournament , it is a fantastic way to close out summer!

This summer will mark the 3rd year in a row Chariho Little League has hosted an end of the summer tournament. The first year, this tournament was one way teams could compete on a statewide level, minus the typical district all star competition. Last year marked the first year of the Joe Charette Memorial Tournament and this summer will continue that tradition. Early round games are played throughout Rhode Island Little League parks, with the championship games/weekend at Dow Field, home of Chariho Little League. The CLL volunteers are absolutely amazing, I’ve gotten the chance to meet a lot of them over the years. This has fast become one of the best Rhode Island baseball tournaments every summer. So, connect with Chris Charette and secure your league’s spot in the 2022 Joe Charette Memorial Tournament.

  • 10U Tournament runs from August 15 to August 21
  • 12U Tournament runs from August 22 to August 28
  • $275 per team – 3 game guarantee
  • Championship weekend games to be played at Dow Field, Chariho Little League

The RIBBE is The Rhode Island Baseball Experience. It is promoting the game of baseball here in the great state of Rhode Island for the entire baseball world to see. The RIBBE is positive stories, photos, videos, and responsible social media posts. The RIBBE is an information resource for families looking for an AAU team or a summer camp or a great place to buy a first baseman’s mitt. The RIBBE is a network of coaches, tournament directors, parents, leagues, and baseball junkies whose passion of the game of baseball is unquestioned. I believe that providing expert analysis, information and directions to ballfields, and coaching advice from some of the top RI baseball minds will help promote the game of baseball here in RI to a whole new level.
